8 months of joy
Alyssa is 8 months old today! I cannot believe how time goes so fast. I think I will now think that for the rest of my life, she just continues to grow, develop and amaze us. She is such a wonderful joy to our family. Last week she started crawling on her hands and knees, with in 2 days she was done with that and now crawls on her feet and hands. As you can see in the picture below she is so interested in everything we do and never wants to be left out. (sounds like her Dad =) In this pictures Noelle is eating something and Alyssa couldn't stand it so crawled over and stood up and practically begged to have some.

Alyssa on the move
So a few weeks ago Alyssa started scooting. At first it was more of an arms and leg scrambling motion but now she is coordinated, sometimes gets gets pretty high on her knees but it is still an army crawl. But she can sure get around. Yesterday she crawled over to the outlet and tried to stick her finger in it (time to baby proof)!

6 MONTHS!!!
Our princess Alyssa =)
Alyssa turned 6 months old yesterday. I just can't believe it. The time has gone so fast. She is the pride and joy of our world! We haven't had her 6 month apt yet so I don't know how much she weighs but I guess about 16 lbs. She is sitting up by her self. She loves eating fruits, and throws up vegtables if I try to feed them to her. It is pretty funny but gross to see pea vomit. I am trying to get her to sleep through the night with out the "cry it out method" which I tried one night but couldn't stand it, I could just feel my heart breaking. Last night she woke up twice but I only feed her once so that was an improvement from the night before when she woke up 5 times. My friend at work has an 8 month old baby who wakes up 2-3 times a night; so I don't feel so bad. Alyssa is now has to have a baby sitter a few times a week while Russ goes to school. I was really nervous about it but it has turned out to be great. The lady who watches her has one girl who is 1 month older than Alyssa and they just play together.
Ignore me in this photo, I didn' know that I was in it. We were trying to get a cute picture of her after her bath but she is making a funny face also. She looks cubby too. =)
FYI: We were driving home from dinner the other night and I saw a little boy on a bike jet out in front of the van in front of us. I knew that there wasn't going to be time to stop and that the boy would get hit. I saw him fly off his bike and hit the ground. He wasn't wearing a helmet. We stopped and I ran to the boy and kept his head still and waited for the ambulance. He seemed to be fine, he could move him legs and was talking but this traumatized me. I was sure he was going to die when I saw him get hit. I am glad that is he is ok but I will always have my children wear helemts no matter what!! And of course make sure they learn to look both ways before crossing the street. I hope that everyone else does too!

CALIFORNIA!!!!
We just got back from a vacation to San Diego! It was a blast. It was so nice to have a week off and spend time together. We did so many fun things. We went to the world famous zoo. It is so big it takes forever to walk around. We saw everything except the panda, but Alyssa was getting fussy so we couldn't go back to see it. They have everything there. We saw lions, tigers, giraffes, koala, zebra, bears, birds, wallaby's, etc...
We also went to Sea World. Russ and I both loved this place as kids. It was still fun but not the same thrill as we were hoping for. We loved the dolphin and whale shows. Here we were trying to pet the dolphins we came close but didn't get to touch them.

We went to the beach everyday. My favorite place in the world!! I think Alyssa will have the same love =) She seemed to enjoy it. If she was crying she would fall asleep if she could look out to the ocean and I would walk down the beach. What a beach baby!
Her first time surfing. =) Most of the week we were at Mission beach but this day we went to La Jolla where I first learned to surf so Russ could try. He did great, stood but on quite a few waves.

We were also able to go do a session at the San Diego temple. I have always loved this temple. It is gorgeous and it is on the inside as well.
Alyssa was a trooper napping on the beach in her stroller.
Me and Russ catching a wave. We went boogie boarding every day, it was awesome. The last day a storm was coming in so the waves were huge, I almost drowned one time. Then it started raining on us while we were in the water. It was kind of creepy, good thing my mom had taken Alyssa back to the condo already! We survived though.
Alyssa playing in the sand. She really liked to grab it and didn't mind if she feel in it, she of course tried to eat it!

After work one day Russ had a picnic packed for dinner. We went up to South Fork park in Provo canyon and had a nice dinner outside.
It was a very hot day, Alyssa was a trooper. This was at stewart falls.

Alyssa is getting so big! She is 11 weeks old. She had her 2 month old check up and everything was great. She was 10.7 lbs 25% and 23inches 75%! She is smiling a ton, as you can see in the picture above. She started rolling over last week. Now anytime she is put on her stomach she rolls over in less than 5 seconds.
We went to Park city for memorial day. We went on the zipline at Olympic park. It was really fun. They even have a bobsled ride but we didn't do that. We tried to get pictures of the zipline but they didn't come out great.
