Best Friends

Alyssa and Emma have grown up together. They are 1 month apart in age. They have been together 3-4 times a week since they were 4 months old. Emma's family to moving across the country in a month for medical school. We are SO sad! I wanted to take get a photo shoot of the girls together before they moved. Right now we have play dates twice a week. It is so fun. Alyssa constantly asks to play with Emma. I got these darling HUGE balloons for the girls. They loved them.

Gymnastics

Today was Alyssa's last day of gymnastic (for now at least). They got metals at the end of class. She had so much at gymnastics. She progressed so well during her time there. It was fun to see her learn and have fun. We are taking a break from gymnastics for a while.  The only gym that had night classes was in Springville. It was getting annoying driving all the way down there. Alyssa would even say "Gymnastics far away" on our drives there. Here are some fun pictures of her doing her stuff.

Trafalga

We took Alyssa and Emma to Trafalga in Lehi for a play date. They had an indoor playground. We did black light golfing and then we were finally able to go outside. The girls loved riding the carousel. Emma and Alyssa are best friends and are so cute together.

Saturday Fun

We had a lot of fun this weekend. On Saturday we had to go to SLC to pick out the tile for our bathroom. Since we were up there we wanted to do something fun. Russ suggested the Tracy Avaiary. I have never been there before. Alyssa loves birds and always runs after birds and says she wants to touch them. They have an encounter that you can pay $3 for and feed some birds. Went we went to buy tickets the lady told us that the admission to the aviarty was free due to City Day. It was really fun. After the aviary we went to a place that Russ saw on the Food Network. It is a cheesesteak place. The guy that owns it is from Philly. The cheesesteaks were awesome! They tastes just like the good ones in Philly.

Mother's day and more

We had a good mother's day. I am very grateful to be a mother. Alyssa makes my life so wonderful .  I could think of nothing that would make my life more complete than being her mother.  We had 4 generations at dinner. This is my mom's mom, my mom, me and Alyssa.
Today it was warm enough to play outside with a little pool. Alyssa thought it was more fun to put things in the pool and pour water than to get in the water her self.

House update

There has been quite a few up and downs with our new house. Over the past several months, we have spent several house designing our house. Our builder had pre-set floor plans but allowed us to change anything we wanted. We made a floor plan that we loved (eventually) after a lot of changes. Building was suppose to start the first week of April. Well April was a very cold, snowy, rainy month. Needless to say April came and went without any progress on the house. Two weeks ago, they called us and said we are digging your lot tomorrow! Yea we were so excited. Russ wanted to go check out the lot the day they started digging. I didn't want to, I thought it would be better to see it when there is more than just a hole in the dirt. Russ went anyway. He called me a few minutes later and said that they had dug on the wrong lot!!! Are you kidding. He called the builder right then. Needless to say they had to fill that hole and re-dig the lot on the correct lot then next day. After that was done, they poured the cement barrings. Well the next day we got a call from our builder, he was really upset. Apparently, the sub contractor dug our lot 10 feet off, meaning he made our front yard 10 feet bigger and our backyard 10 feet smaller. I was mad.  When picking out a house, I wanted as much backyard as I could get. So after what I assume was a lot of yelling at the sub contractor. (2 mistakes in a row). They re-dug the right lot in the right position.... Now the walls of basement are up and it is looking good. We can actually see progress. If no other problems happen we will have the frame up on the house by next Thursday.  Here is picture from yesterday.

Tulip festival

she had to get her nose inside the flower to smell it =)

For my mom's birthday we went to the Thanksgiving point tulip festival. It has been so cold here, rain and snow that they extended the festival one more week. It was good for us since it was so nice that day. Finally we could wear short sleeves. Of course it is now cold again. At least it was nice for one day. I tried and tried to get a good picture of Alyssa. She refuses to stay still and when ever I pull my camera out she runs away and turns her head. These are the best I could do. But man there were so many beautiful tulips in all different colors.

excited that she threw a rock into the pond

we had to bribe her with lifesavers to sit still long enough for this picture, but no smiles that's for sure.

Walking the Dog

Alyssa really loves her dog Maya. We take her on walks everyday. Alyssa always wants to hold the leash. I let her when we are in a place that it is okay if Maya gets away from her.
