New Room

Since Alyssa was born she has shared a room with me and Russ. This was for many reasons, one being we only had one bedroom. We originally make shifted half of the family room into a room for her. This didn't work out so well. Russ stays up studying and it is noisy. I also love sleeping with her. It is so fun to cuddle her and have her with us at night. But she is getting too big. Russ convinced  me to clean out the disgusting storage room and turn it in to a room for her. It is the grossest room in the whole house, I couldn't imagine it being a little girls room.

She took to her new room very well. She loves it. She says Mine when we go in there. She didn't complain or  fuss at all when we put her to bed in there the first night. She does wake up in the middle of the night crying for me but besides that it is going really well. It is amazing what new carpet, paint and some TLC can do. My handy husband did most of it. I helped paint =).

Happy New Year!

New years eve we took Alyssa to the aquarium.  Apparently it was the thing to do since it was about 20 degrees outside. It was wall to wall packed we had to practically fight out way up to the tanks. Alyssa loved it. Her favorite thing was the sting ray pool. She would have stayed there the whole time. The first time the sting ray swam by the touched it,  after that when they would swim by she would take out her hands and put them back in the water after they left. But after they left she would say " come here, come here". She is funny. I don't blame her though I get a little nervous the pet them as well. We saw penguins, alligators, all sorts of fish and snakes. They had a reptile room where you could touch disgusting bugs like cockroaches, snakes and other hideous insects. Russ took Alyssa and she touch them with out worry. I almost threw up so I left the room right after I got the picture of her touching the snake. I HATE BUGS! (especially large hissing cockroaches) (how did I survive in the Philippines and Kenya I am not sure)

Christmas

This year I was more excited for Christmas because of Alyssa. This year she could actually open her gifts and be excited. We woke up and I said Alyssa do you want to open your presents. She said YA!  So we went upstairs and since she was the youngest she got to open her first present first. She got a darling baby doll. She exclaimed BABY when she opened it.  After each present she opened she played with them while we took our turns opening gifts. She loves having all her new toys. She was also very excited about her stocking once she saw what was in it. Needless to say she is asking for treats a lot this week. She has eaten all her candy and still goes looking in her stocking for candy.  We all had a fun Christmas and are enjoying our new gifts.

Travel Blog

Russ and I are starting a travel blog. It is fun to dream about new places to travel and reminsce on the places we have seen. Russ and I LOVE to travel so this is a good outlet for both of us =) Check it out.

How cool is this. The Provo tabernacle burned down(sad) but look at this picture that was saved. Look at that burn pattern.

Christmas activites

Every year we make delicious sugar cookies. Alyssa was very delighted to be involved this year. She spent most the time time trying to steal pieces of the dough to eat. I don't blame her though it is delicious. It was really funny, she would start to roll the dough and then sneakily stick her hand down and grab a chunk of dough. 

We also went to Temple Square to see the lights. It was cold. Alyssa spend most of the time cuddle up in her stroller. She didn't want to get out. The only time we made her was to get a picture and as you can see she wasn't to happy about that.

We had family pictures taken by a local photographer, I researched many different people on the internet. I found a girl that I really liked. We were lucky to get in with her before Christmas so we could use the pictures for our cards. We went up A.F canyon. It was cold but we were able to get some great pictures.
