While Russ is in Brazil we are trying to keep busy. My mom and I went and saw Wicked in SLC. It was awesome. I thought it was hilarious. While we went Noelle and Eric babysat Alyssa and Kate. They had a lemonade stand. A few people stopped. Alyssa made about $3. Every time a car would pass and not stop she would say "Why isn't anyone stopping."

My mom and I went to Steel days in A.F. I had never heard of it but it was so fun. All the rides and games were free! This ride Alyssa went on was like a very mini Rocket. Her face as so funny. She said it was fun. She got her face painted and played a few carnival games.
I'm so glad I live near my mom, she keeps me good company and helps me out a lot!

Blog going private

I hate to do this but I am making my blog private. I love to blog surf and often read blogs of people I don't know or barely know. But on instagram I follow a lady who has a popular blog (I don't know her.) She gets thousands or likes and hundreds of comments. Today she posted a darling picture of her daughter and someone left a nasty comment. I don't think too many people even read my blog, but the thought of someone nasty stumbling across my blog and thinking those things about my kids make me disgusted. If you want to read my blog please leave a comment with your email address or email me and I will invite you to read it. To those of you who don't know, you need a gmail account to be able to sign in and read it ( I think).

Boating

Me, out of the wake.
Last weekend we went boating at Deer Creek. I love boating. We wake boarded, tubed and enjoyed the lake. Alyssa tried tubing and liked it but didn't like the water spraying in her face. Kate slept most of the time.

4th of July

On the 4th of July we went to the pool and had a BBQ in my mom's backyard. We were planning on going up AF canyon but it was closed due to a fire. There have been so many fire's and the fire danger is so high, we weren't allowed to do any fireworks in mine or my moms neighborhood. That night we watched fireworks from the top of the hill. We could see the Stadium of fire and then alot of local fireworks being done. I was surprised how many ariel fireworks were being done, because of the extreme fire danger. We had a good day.

Adventures

Last week we had 2 fun mountain adventures. Friday my mom and I took Kate and Alyssa hiking to Stewart Falls. It is 2 miles each way. We carried Kate in the front pack. She was awake and happy all the way until the last 10 minutes when she was getting hungry. Alyssa walked most of the way. A few times we carried her  when she needed to rest. She was proud of her self at the end and said "I'm a good hiker." Afterwards she complained that her legs hurt. I'm sure they were tired.
The next day Russ and I went mountain biking at Sundance. It was beautiful. I actually have never taken the chairlift in the summer. We took the lift up and then rode down. The first trail we did was very twisty with sharp turns through trees. It was fun but scary for my very first mountain biking trail. The second one we did was my  favorite. There weren't as many turns, we had to peddle more. The trails are very narrow, I crashed a few times when my tire went off the side of the trail. It was scary but fun, I would want go again.

4 months

Kate is now 4 months old. She is so adorable. She is very happy and fun. She rolled from her tummy to her back and now doesn't mind being on her stomach. She will look around while on her tummy before she decides she is done and rolls over. She softly giggles if we work really hard to get her to laugh. She smiles all the time. I posted before how Kate was just a good sleeper, Well then she got a cold and was sick for a while and that threw everything off. She has been sleeping awful for the last 3 weeks. I am exhausted! Since she was better I decided to do some sleep training. It went okay and on night 3 she didn't wake up. Then last night she cried for 2 hours! It was awful. She had her 4 month old check up today. She is 11.2 lbs(3%) 22.75 inches (2%). She dropped from the 20% to the 3rd. This worried me of course. The Dr was concerned but not too worried since Alyssa was small as well. He said we will keep an eye on her weight and see how she is at her next check up at 6 months. She also has mucous behind her Right ear drum, probably from her cold. She has been acting normal minus the sleeping so he didn't want to do antibiotics. I agree. So that is why she hasn't been sleeping well. Now I don't know what to do about her sleep. Anyway I have been thinking about it all day. My Dr. didn't really have an opinion either, he was on the fence. The problem is not feeding her at night, its that even if I do she wakes up an 1 hr or so later and on and on. I am trying to develop healthy sleep habits for her. Since I know the consequences of not doing that (Alyssa!). Anyway we are still working on Alyssa sleeping in her own bed all night. She usually comes in our room at some point in the middle of the night. Most of the time we are so asleep that we don't even know that she climbs in our bed until the morning or when I get up with Kate I see that she is there.
The summer so far has been fun. We love going to the pool, it is too hot to go to the park. I am training for a half marathon and it is so much harder than the last time I did it! I have 2 friends in my ward that are doing it with me so we run together, which is fun. But I am so self conscious about my speed and I hate feeling like I am slowing them down. But since I started training so soon after having Kate, my main goal is to finish and I don't really care about my time.

Swimming

We have been swimming a few times this summer. Alyssa took swimming lessons at the rec center. She learned basic things like blowing bubbles and floating with assistants. This past weekend we went to St George. We mostly relaxed and went swimming. It was over a 100 so those were the only options. We wanted to play tennis but at night it was still in the 90's! Alyssa got really comfortable in the pool. She swam all around by herself just holding on to the noodle. It was really cute, the first few times she did it by herself she was giggling and screaming none stop. We threw little objects in the water and she would go get them. Kate got in the baby pool with me for a few minutes, she didn't seem to mind until kids kept splashing her.
